Después de que el caos total reinara de norte a sur en Londres, y que muchos ciudadanos londinenses acusaran a la policía de no aparecer en los lugares adecuados, las autoridades reaccionaron con una herramienta poco imaginada: Flickr.
La Policía Metropolitana esta usando este popular sitio de fotografías para pedir a la población que le ayude a identificar a sospechosos de los disturbios.
La galería de fotos de la cuenta de Flickr la Policía Metropolitana, muestra actualmente 15 fotografías de posibles sospechosos con la siguiente invitación:
If anyone recognises individuals in the photographs or has any information about the violence and disorder that has occurred they should contact the Major Investigation Team on 020 8345 4142. Alternatively anyone can report crime and provide information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Operation Withern’s priority is to bring to justice those who have committed violent and criminal acts. As the detailed and thorough investigation progresses we will be issuing photographs of suspects, like those of alleged looters we are releasing today (Tuesday 9 August). These CCTV images are from incidents of looting in Croydon over last night and in Norwood Road SE27 in the early hours of this morning.
A pocas horas de ser publicadas, las fotografías ya sobrepasan las 10mil vistas. Una muy buena idea en una organización que esta sabiendo aprovechar el poder de las masas en una herramienta tan popular.
